Wedding sketches

Wedding sketches are unique gifts fitting a Charleston destination wedding. Rick creates gesture drawings of guests at the reception and distributes as memorable keepsakes.  The bride and groom receive specialized drawings of significant events as well.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a sketch is worth ten thousand! Photo booths, painters, caricature artists – all great reception entertainment options but felt too flashy for ours. When it finally dawned on me that a simple, elegant, black & white sketch is what I wanted for each of my guests, I dove into researching artists in the Charleston area. When planning a destination wedding, selecting vendors is ultimately a leap of faith since you likely won't meet them in person. Such was the case when we found & hired Rick to create 50+ real-time sketches for our Charleston wedding reception guests – and I am SO thrilled we did!!! It is hard to imagine a more special keepsake or a nicer, more talented individual than Rick. My mom still refers to him as the ‘secret breakout star’ of the night – none of our guests noticed he was among them until he handed them their sketch! Talk about surprised. As most brides know, the entire day was a blur for me. But there is one point in the night I remember very clearly – during our first dance as husband & wife, I noticed a gentleman standing in the background with a large drawing board…

Ink drawings:  

• 30-40 ink drawings

• 2 bridegroom gesture drawings

Pricing:  

• 500-650 depending on duration requested and color options

• Due to the variables with color portraits, please use contact form for pricing.

50% is due at start of commission.  Remainder due a two weeks before reception.
